Woodstock Road Is Getting a New Multi Use Trail

If you drive Woodstock Road often, you already know it is a busy corridor, especially around school traffic. Roswell is taking a big step toward making it safer and more connected for people who want to walk or bike instead of hopping in the car for every short trip.

In October 2025, Roswell City Council approved a $3.19 million construction contract for Phase 1 of the Woodstock Road Multi Use Trail, funded through the City’s TSPLOST 2 program and an intergovernmental agreement with Fulton County.

Where Phase 1 will run

Phase 1 will stretch from State Route 92 to Crabapple Middle School.

A future Phase 2, still in design, is planned to extend the trail from Crabapple Middle School to Canton Street.

What’s being built

This project is described as an eight to ten foot wide concrete path with pedestrian lighting, designed to improve safety and accessibility for walkers and cyclists.

Timing

Construction is expected to begin in early 2026 and last about nine months, with the goal of wrapping up before Fulton County Schools returns for the August 2026 session.

Why this matters for Roswell families

This is the kind of improvement that quietly changes day to day life. Safer routes near schools. More comfortable options for walking and biking. And one more step toward a more connected Roswell.
